instant removal

Electrocautery delivers an electrical current and heat to destroy the lesion and stop any bleeding. The lesion in therefore fully removed. Dermal curettes and Scalpels are tools to cut the lesions off. The Hyfrecator is then used to cauterise any bleeding that may occur

Frequently asked questions

What skin lesions can you treat with excision?

The Nurse Clinic treat the following:

  • Warts
  • Skin Tags
  • Milia
  • Seborrheic Keratosis
  • Cherry Angioma
  • Verruca
What to expect after your procedure?

After your procedure

  • Swelling & Redness : Electrocautery causes minor inflammation to the skin due to the heat. The skin has redness and swelling after the procedure which is very normal.
  • Scarring :   Over time, this will develop into a scar.
What are the risk of Electrocautery or Excision by scalpel or curette?

Risks include infection, scarring, bleeding, or irritation. These risks are relatively low, especially when performed by a qualified health care professional within a registered clinical setting.

Can I have more than one skin lesion treated at the same consultation ? Does it cost extra?

Yes you can have multiple lesions treated. The cost for 1 lesion to be treated is £200. Any additional lesions are charged at £50 each.

Who is unable to recieve electrocautery?

The following conditions are contraindications to receiving ELECTROCAUTERY

  • People with a cardiac pacemaker or cardiac arrhythmia
  • People with a Defibrillator
  • People with a Brain Stimulator
  • People with a cochlear Implant.

*Although every effort is made during skin lesion removal procedures to ensure the lesions are treated effectively or excised fully, there may be rare occasions that the outcome is still not 100% effective – Please be aware of this before booking your appointment and consenting to the procedure as no refunds will be given*

Warts and Verruca are extremely difficult to treat and recurrence is common even despite treatment by Cryotherapy or Excision  due to viral particles adjacent to the wart not being visible to the naked eye.

Testimonials

Donna, was really helpful and professional. We agreed on how to deal with the skin lesions by incision. After the local anaesthetic this was carried out without any discomfort. I would certainly use Donna again.

Went to Donna to have some unsightly skin tags removed from around my eyes. Because of the proximity to the eyes cryotherapy was unsafe and Donna had to surgically remove the skin tags. Donna was patient, kind and skilful and I am very satisfied with the results.
