Sadly it came to our attention back in July this year after a number of enquiries from potential customers that another business had rebranded to that of an almost identical business name and logo. As you can imagine this has caused confusion to our online community and our existing patients who are enquiring as to whether The Nurse Clinic ® has now opened up in an additional location.

The answer is … NO ! The Nurse Clinic ® has not multiplied! , We are not affiliated with any other businesses of the same or similar names and we have not opened any additional clinics elsewhere.

The Nurse Clinic ® is a small independent business based in rural Bedfordshire. Despite being a small business, we are considered one of the top rated private health providers in the area. We have built a reputation for quality, kindness and professionalism. Patients travel from all over the UK to attend treatment consultations. The Nurse Clinic ® is consistently recommended by GP Practices, Local Businesses and Community.

We have been in legal discussions regarding the matter which as a small business has been extremely financially challenging. We believed that in 2021 when setting up The Nurse Clinic ® we did everything possible to protect our brand and company from this very scenario from happening.

Trademarking our name and logo, purchasing multiple domain names, incorporated as a LTD company…….. All in an attempt to avoid another business from using the same or almost identical name or logo. Unfortunately it seems that it may not have been enough!

We trust to have the matter resolved soon but with escalating legal costs, limited negotiations being achieved it appears that a resolution may not be as imminent as we first thought.

What have I learnt during this experience? I have been so disappointed how easy it is for another businesses to rebrand itself to an almost identical name and logo and face no consequences (unless I have over £20,000 in legal fees to take them to court)

Despite being legally advised that this is a classic example of “passing off”, issuing a cease and desist letter, attempting and offering to pay for the other businesses rebranding (which was refused). We are unfortunately not in the position to proceed further due to our financial limitations as a small business. Therefore we are in the unfortunate position of accepting the fact that our business name and logo has been replicated almost identically.
